Enjoy Transitional Shades near Carlsbad, CA
Transitional shades are dual-layered window treatments that feature alternating horizontal bands of sheer and solid or semi-opaque fabric—like blinds, but softer. They feature unique closure options because they work somewhere between a blind and a shade.
Pacific Shutters & Shades has served homeowners in San Diego County and beyond for 30 years as a Hunter Douglas dealer and installer. Today, we’re excited to share shades that work like transitional shades—and tell you how they can impact your home.
Banded Zebra Shades from Hunter Douglas
Our classic transitional shade is often called a “zebra shade” because of its signature stripes. Hunter Douglas Designer Banded Shades are made from one fabric panel that loops sheer and opaque fabric bands that you can overlap or alternate to customize the light and opacity in your space.
Sheer Transitional Shades from Hunter Douglas
Hunter Douglas Pirouette® Sheer Shades are also a transitional shade! Like a transitional shade, they feature soft fabric vanes that align on one sheer backing, so you can tilt them open for filtered daylight or close them for privacy. They roll up into a cassette and out of the way when you want to enjoy the views.
When you want the whole window clear, the shade raises completely up into the headrail. The vanes come in semi-opaque and room-darkening fabrics, and the A Deux™ option adds a room-darkening roller fabric in the same headrail for a bedroom.
Transitional Shades for Designs That Mix Classic and Modern
A transitional design blends the traditional and modern, such as an antique wooden table next to metal and glass. Choose neutral shades set against neutral walls in beige, taupe, white, or tan.
Pirouette® Sheer Shades come in over 90 colors and fabrics, including wovens from the Alustra® Collection, so you can hold a sample up to your walls and furniture before you order.
Where Hunter Douglas Trnasitional Shades Fit Best
Here are a few places in your home where transitional shades work well:
- In a living room, you can align the vanes open to let in soft daylight while still seeing outside.
- In rooms that get strong afternoon sun, a shade’s UV protection helps keep furniture and floors from fading.
- For tall or wide windows, PowerView® Automation lets you raise, lower, and tilt the shade from the app, the Pebble® Remote, or a scene that responds to sunrise and sunset.
- In homes with children or pets, our transitional shades feature motorized and cordless controls to remove hanging cords from windows.
At Pacific Shutters & Shades, a trusted team member installs every PowerView® Automation system. Pair your shades with the PowerView® Gateway to automate your shades from anywhere or through your smart-home system.
