What to Expect From Our Professional Drapery Showroom Experience
Ordering drapery from a website means guessing at the look and weight of your fabric and making guesses on color before you’re able to see the fabric in your room’s light.
Our custom drapery program was designed by local drapery designer Jayne Wollaston. Jayne helps clients work through design choices that shape their finished treatment. Meet with our team in the showroom or schedule an in-home consultation when seeing materials directly in your space makes more sense.

Fabric Exploration Starts in Our Drapery Showroom
It’s not easy to understand fabrics from a small square swatch online. Fabric selection means pulling candidates that fit your overall vision and holding several options side by side and looking at them in different lighting conditions.
Material matters: linen falls and hangs differently than a heavy velvet, for example. A woven texture can be a great opacity in morning light and need more privacy at dusk, or a print that looks bold on a screen be too small or busy across a wide panel.
Our fabric sourcing extends across an extensive range of options from leading brands, giving you room to explore color, pattern, texture, and performance rather than choosing from a limited online assortment.
Your designer can help narrow those choices around your existing furnishings, finishes, light, and overall direction of the room–including base layer blinds or shades. Custom pillows, bedding, and other coordinating fabric pieces can also become part of the conversation when you want one cohesive design.
Header Style and Hardware Choices at Our Drapery Shop
We make the finishing details easier to understand when you work with a designer.
The header style and hardware choice completely changes the character of a panel. A pinch pleat gives you crisp, structured folds; an inverted box pleat creates a more tailored profile; a goblet pleat adds a formal decorative detail; ripple folds create a continuous wave that suits contemporary rooms; and tab-back drapery offers a softer, more relaxed treatment.
Interlining builds fullness and helps each panel accomplish different goals season after season. Room darkening lining suits bedrooms and media rooms. Thermal linings add insulation.
Top treatments like custom cornices and valances add scale above each opening and hide the hardware up top. Hardware changes the finished look. Rods, rings, finials, and tiebacks arrive in finishes that you can choose to match or mix with other designer finishes in the space.
Measuring and Professional Drapery Installation
With professional measurement, you can assure each drapery is precisely cut for your window. We measure in multiple areas to ensure accurate panel width, finished length, and return depth, whether we meet in the showroom first or come to the house for a consultation.
Every piece is then made to order from those measurements and we handle installation. scheduled with our own installers. They mount the hardware, hang the panels, and dress the window so everything falls neatly for you to enjoy.
Working With Designers and Other Professionals
The showroom can also function as a resource when drapery is one part of a larger interior project. Pacific Shutters & Shades works with design professionals to source custom window coverings for their clients and coordinate delivery with the broader design timeline.
If an interior designer, contractor, or other project professional is already involved, bringing the window-treatment conversation into the project early can help us align on fabric selections, hardware, measurements, installation requirements, and timing with the rest of the reno.
That continuity is one of the biggest differences between professional drapery and ordering a bulk solution online: it’s treated as parts of the same project rather than separate decisions you must manage yourself.
For homeowners working without a designer or project manager, our team can provide that window-treatment guidance directly to you.
